Our Facilities

Welcome to Dayaalu, a peaceful oasis in the heart of downtown Bainbridge Island. This sense of peace arises from the intention put into creating our sacred space, from the years of mindfully curated practices and experiences and most of all from the incredible community that brings our space alive each day.

A room arranged for meditation with eight purple cushions and mats in a circle around a central white rug decorated with candles, flowers, and possibly incense, with a fireplace and windows in the background.
A backyard garden with a small stream running through it, surrounded by various plants and flowers, including purple and orange blooms, and bordered by rocks. There are two houses with blue siding visible on either side of the garden.

The creation of the Dayaalu Center was started in 2012 and we first opened our doors in November of 2013. Our unique architecture is inspired by Zen design principles and our materials and colors weave the five elements of water, earth, fire, air and space. Sacred geometry and the golden mean ratio inform the shape and size of our classrooms and treatment rooms as well as our windows. The golden onyx lighting in our classrooms infuses our spaces with the harmonious energy of peace and joy. When we were building the Dayaalu Center, community members of all ages gathered to place poetry, sacred scriptures and art under our floors and behind our walls. The garden and stream that surround our building create a connection to nature's beauty, sound and scents. Perhaps the most important element of all is the beautiful community that comes open hearted each day to inspire Dayaalu’s ongoing evolution.

Our space includes an 800-square-foot classroom, a 240-square-foot classroom, 3 treatment rooms, a large lobby with small kitchenette, infrared sauna with shower and a commercial kitchen. The two classrooms are connected by a 6-foot wide double door that can be opened to combine spaces for larger events. Dayaalu is walking distance from the Seattle-Bainbridge Ferry.
